Home Delivery Network Burslem employees celebrate NVQ success

Employees at Home Delivery Network Limited’s Burslem depot, were celebrating last week when eight members of staff were presented with NVQ awards.

The eight members of staff who began studying in March 2007 were recognised for their achievements in Customer Service, Warehouse and Distribution and Team Leading. The courses were run in conjunction with Joint Learning Management & Training Services.

"I would like to congratulate everyone on achieving their NVQ awards, and also extend recognition to those colleagues in the depot who took on additional duties to support those studying for their NVQ's" said Wayne Sidebottom, Burslem Depot Manager at Home Delivery Network Limited. "This has provided an excellent opportunity for our team members to develop their skills, to assist them in being able to fulfil their potential and also to provide a better service to our customers."

A new wave of NVQ courses is already underway at the depot with 19 staff members starting last week including NVQs in Carry and Deliver level 2. As a successful pilot Home Delivery Network is now considering how it can provide these opportunities for all of its 62 nationwide depots.

Home Delivery Network Limited is the UK’s largest home delivery and collection service, handling over 116 million items. They have the capacity to sort and deliver parcels from clothing, fresh flowers to electricals and small flat pack furniture.
